Youth Worker

Our client is nationally recognised Not-For-Profit providing a range of innovative accommodation, care, and support services to disadvantaged young people. Due to ongoing success in their approach to the STEP Program, this NFP is rapidly growing and expanding and are now seeking exceptional caring individuals for their Grafton House.

Ideally you will be an experienced Youth Worker or have extensive experience in disability support services supporting clients with behaviours. You will have a natural ability to connect with young people, have patience and compassion for the young person and the ability to work with challenging behaviours. You will support the young person from a trauma informed, client centred perspective.


What your day looks like:
* Working with a team of Youth Workers providing 24/7 care & support to an individual young person in a family home
* Supporting the young person's case plans on a day-to-day basis in collaboration with the Program Manager
* Assist the young person in daily living activities encourage healthy eating, engagement in school & participation in fun activities, sports, and community engagement.
* Develop and maintain effective communication and positive relationship with the young person
* Assist the young person to effectively manage their own behaviour through self-awareness and strengths-based approach.
* Respond appropriately to challenging behaviours or incidents and ensuring the safety of the young person
* Maintain documentation and records, including completing accurate and timely reports, communications
* Maintain a positive, safe, and productive workplace, including reporting of safety concerns and ensuring house is safe and clean.
* Complete set house tasks assigned respond to reasonable directions from program manager and care team.

* Rates $45ph - $81ph Monday to Sunday. Public Holidays $99ph

* Opportunity to also work across other houses at Port Macquarie, Wachope, Coffs, Thrumster & Wnghjam, Kempsey


What you need:
* Certificate IV in Community Services or Youth Work or equivalent
* Current First Aid & CPR certificate
* Working with Children Check.
* Police Clearance
* Unrestricted driver's licence
