The Role:

Our client is looking for a Full time 3 month contract (with opportunity to extend) Youth Worker to join the team, located out of the Bankstown office. You will be reporting to the Youth Services Manager, the team of 7 is close knitted and experienced in Youth Services. The primary client group is from 12yr - 17yrs of age who are at risk and disconnected from their community. These clients are highly vulnerable due to the amount of time spent frequenting public spaces.

As part of this role you will be required to complete 20 hours of street work per week, the rest in the office, and some weekend and night work will be necessary to engage the young people they wish to assist.

This role is responsible for the delivery of an assessment, referral, transitional case management and interim support services. The right applicant will possess strong relationship building skills and the ability to identify issues and key barriers that young people are facing.

This role may require working on Saturdays till end of December (this may extend or be discontinued subject to Management discretion).

The right candidate will meet the following criteria:

* Qualification (min Diploma) in Social Work, Youth Work and/or related
* Ability to identify and report key barriers that young people are facing
* Actively advocate on the needs of the client groups
* Experience with street work
* Demonstrable experience at developing and managing relationships
* The ability to inspire, mentor and lead young people in wellbeing best practice
* Support young people to reach their potential
* Working with children's check
* Willing to take a national police check
* Current Drivers License
* Current first Aid Certificate - CPR
