Housing Officer

Job description

BRC Recruitment is looking for a Housing Officer to work in the Social and Affordable Housing program in the Cardiff/Maitland area. This is a full time, ongoing temporary role and will be best suited to someone who can bring their experience in the local area to hit the ground running.

What will your duties look like:

Reporting to the Program Coordinator, your duties will be, but not limited to:

  • Tenancy management: Sign ups, property inspections (occasional Saturday work)
  • Maintenance requests, liaison with Asset Management staff, finalising work orders, and routine property inspections
  • Arrears Management: monitor rent, arrears, voids, and vacancies attending NCAT
  • Managing vacancies within benchmarks
  • Tenant rent reviews
  • Managing an increasing size portfolio of social and affordable rental housing
  • Providing timely and accurate information as required that is used in reports on project KPIs
  • Working cooperatively with Program stakeholders
  • Ensure database and software are kept up to date

What are we looking for:

  • Experience in social housing and tenancy management and qualifications relevant to social housing tenancy management
  • Ability to complete routine inspections accurately and experienced in working with repairs and maintenance budgets
  • Experience in working within a team
  • Commitment to delivery of customer service and ability to meet set KPI's
  • Experience in using MS Office and Excel
  • Open to working Saturdays
  • Valid Driver's licence and own reliable car
  • Experience with NSW Pathways and SDM Housing software or similar
