Client Services Officer (part time)Young, NSW
Package: $43,241.12 + super + benefits

Argyle Community Housing Ltd. is a community managed Housing Association. The aim of the Company is to house people who are waiting for public housing.

The Company housing stock is located in the Local Government Areas of Campbelltown, Camden, Wollondilly, Wingecarribee, Goulburn, Yass, Young, Queanbeyan, Wagga Wagga & Griffith. Generally the households to whom the organisation responds, face issues such as homelessness, unemployment, high rents, family difficulties, domestic violence, legal and emotional problems.

The Client Service Officer role requires a solid background in housing / property management, commitment to client service, an ability to interview, asses and manage rental arrears.

Experience required:

Qualifications of a tertiary level are not essential. Most essential and desirable is practical experience working in social housing with people of all ages, cultures and social standing, to establish a good rapport with the community and to demonstrate an understanding of issues relevant to the client groups.

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience of medium scale housing management
  • Excellent knowledge of the legal framework pertaining to the Residential Tenancy Act
  • Knowledge and understanding of the management of social housing properties including:
  • Tenancy management
  • Property management
  • Long term maintenance program
  • Supported tenancies
  • Understanding of, and sensitivity to, the needs of social housing clients
  • Ability to apply & develop best practice guidelines to service delivery in the areas of:
  • housing access
  • tenancy management
  • property management
  • An ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds
  • The capability to prioritize a demanding workload
  • Well-developed written & verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work with both individuals and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated experience of Microsoft Office (including MS Access)
  • A comprehensively insured motor vehicle
  • A current drivers license
Desirable
  • Knowledge of Local Community Agencies in the local government of Young & surrounding areas
